Wild Fires in Southern California = Unhappy Toddler

We're surrounded by wild fires! There are currently 4 fires in the area. La Canada, Azusa, Rancho Palos Verdes, and Hemet. My 2 1/2 year old has been cooped up for the last couple days because of the smoke and the bad air quality outside. I finally broke down and took him outside for 30 minutes to walk down the street and mail a letter in the mail box.
We've done the basic things like read books, play games, color, etc but that doesn't really tire him out. If anyone has any good ideas for indoor play please share them!

  1. How about macaroni art? You've got momma's b-day, and two aunties' b-days coming up - time to bust out the noodles, yarn, paint and glitter and start making some necklaces and birthday cards!

  2. 1. Mix white vinegar and baking soda to make volcanos
    2. Finger paint with shaving cream (the cheap foamy kind, not the high-tech gel kind) on a big tray or plastic-covered table.
    3. Pull sheets off bed. Put child in center of bed. Fluff the sheets over child and then make the bed (this is called fluffer fluffer at my house).
    4. Dance party.
    5. Mid-day bubble bath.

  5. Thanks for coming to leave a comment on Babes and Kids! It is actually hosted on Wordpress. I did have my blog on blogger for a while. In order to get the blogspot out of your address, you need to buy a domain. You can do that in your setup! Let me know if you have more questions!
